Traditional colorants added to paint can harbor some extremely toxic compounds that are free to off-gas into a room over time, contributing to indoor air quality degradation. People that use our paints will be happy to know that all of our colorants are zero-VOC.
Unlike most companies, ecohaus has been using zero-VOC pigments for years, which has allowed us to offer true zero-VOC product lines in all colors. The colorants are measured by industry standard guidelines and are considered a suitable replacement for traditional universal pigment. This allows us to mix and match nearly any color.
The special formulation of colorants used by ecohaus contains fewer toxic ingredients as well. Certain volatile ingredients are altered to make them heavier, so they’re harmlessly bound up in the paint film and won’t evaporate.
