Explore the energy efficient, tax credit eligible products below and determine your needs.
2. DECIDE
Visit the Energy Star website at http://www.energystar.gov/taxcredit and consult your Tax Advisor for full details about your eligibility for a federal tax credit under the "American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009".
3. SHOP
Purchase select energy-saving products from 1/1/09 – 12/31/10 from Ecohaus. Keep your receipts and print out a copy of the correct Manufacturing Certification Statement***.
4. FILE
File for tax credit on your qualifying energy efficient home improvements placed in service by 12/31/10. Consult your Tax Advisor for appropriate forms.

** Subject to a $1,500 maximum per homeowner for all improvements combined.
*** A Manufacturing Certification Statement is a signed statement from the manufacturer certifying that the product or component qualifies for the tax credit. The IRS encourages manufacturers to provide these Certifications on their website to facilitate identification of qualified products. Taxpayers must keep a copy of the certification statement for their records, but do not have to submit a copy with their tax return.
**** The law defines "biomass fuel" as any plant-derived fuel available on a renewable or recurring basis, including agricultural crops and trees, wood and wood waste and residues (including wood pellets), plant (including aquatic plants), grasses, residues, and fibers.
